On Beginnings

There is no easy way to begin. The very idea of a beginning is awkward if you think about it. The entire concept of a beginning is creating something where there was nothing before. Transitioning from nothing to something is almost never a graceful process.

It’s easy to pretend to skip the beginning, to simply leave out paragraph one or the first page in an attempt to convince yourself that it can be avoided. I have decided not to take this route, but instead to fully embrace the awkwardness of the opening.

Lets take this moment to enjoy a long, uncomfortable silence.

Ahhh. Now we’re talking.

Now hat we’re done with the beginning, we can move on to bigger and better things. And although I can say that they will be more interesting, I can not promise that they will not be as awkward.
